They are best known for their six #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100: "Rich Girl", "Kiss on My List", "Private Eyes", "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)", "Maneater", and "Out of Touch", as well as many other songs which charted in the Top 40. Descrição:"I Want to Know What Love Is" is a power ballad recorded by the British-American rock band Foreigner. The song hit #1 in both the UK and the U.S. and is their most successful single. It remains one of the band's best known songs. Foreigner's other top seller, Waiting For A Girl Like You spent 10 weeks in the number two spot, so it is often considered to be a bigger hit. Song information Written by Mick Jones and produced by him and Alex Sadkin, it was the first single released from the album Agent Provocateur (1984). The song features backing vocals from the New Jersey Mass Choir (of the GMWA), Dreamgirls star Jennifer Holliday, and the Thompson Twins. The choir appears in the song's music video. "I Want to Know What Love Is" reached number one in the UK Singles Chart on January 13, 1985, and stayed there for three weeks. It reached the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 on February 2, 1985, where it stayed for two weeks. It was Foreigner's first and only Pop chart-topper in either country, although the band had four #1 Mainstream Rock and one #1 Adult Contemporary radio hits in the U.S. Soon after Foreigner's single topped the charts, the New Jersey Mass Choir released its own, similar-sounding version of the song, on an album also titled I Want to Know What Love Is. Their single peaked at #37. In 2004 "I Want to Know What Love Is" was voted #476 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. In 2006 this song was included on VH1's program "Top 100 Songs of the 80's". Also in 2006, the song was made part of the videogame Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories soundtrack as well as being the background music for the game's first trailer and intro cutscene. In 2007, the game SingStar '80s included this song.

Descrição:1984) The single's music video underscores the song's paranoia theme with a haunted house-inspired theme, including imagery of floating heads, ravens, graveyards, and shower scenes referencing the film Psycho. The mailman who appears in the music video for "Somebody's Watching Me" also stars in the video for "Obscene Phone Caller" as a paparazzi reporter. _____________________________________ "Somebody's Watching Me" is the debut single by R&B artist Rockwell, released on the Motown label in 1984 (see 1984 in music). The single features guest vocals from Michael and Jermaine Jackson, and the song's lyrics express a fear of being followed and watched. Original recording. Rockwell is the son of Motown CEO Berry Gordy, Jr. The singer had himself signed to Motown without his father's knowledge. The elder Gordy did not find out that Rockwell was his son Kennedy until after the single and the accompanying Somebody's Watching Me album were released. Produced by Curtis Anthony Nolen, "Somebody's Watching Me" peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1984, and reached the top of the Billboard R&B singles chart, as well as reaching number six on the UK Singles Chart. Some of the song's success was derived from the presence of Michael Jackson's recognizable voice on the chorus. The Jacksons were one of the last elements added to the recording. Producer Curtis Anthony Nolen with Rockwell in the passenger seat drove his Mercedes 380 SL to pick Michael up at his parents compound in Encino, California. Michael brought no security and rode in the back seat doing his best to stay out of view of passing cars. Michael was a complete professional and completed his vocals in a little under an hour. "Out of all the artists I've worked with over the years, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, George Benson and Stevie Wonder:(who Nolen asked to sing background vocals on Rockwells song Cobra). These guys are the most prolific. They'd tell the engineer to stop the tape and ask for another take if they made a mistake. Michael was very kind and gracious, he stayed until the end of the recording process and along with Randy and Jermaine posed for pictures with Curtis Nolens wife and Rockwells girlfriend at the time.[3] It was the only major hit for Rockwell. His follow-up single, "Obscene Phone Caller", was Rockwell's only other Top 40 single, reaching #35 on the Billboard Hot 100. Cover versions. The song was covered by several artists, such as Raunchy, Beatfreakz, Jeffree Star (under the title "Starstruck"), DJ Bobo (under the title "Somebody Dance With Me"), T.O.K., Toby Mac, and Warmen among others. Kidz Bop Kids covered this song on the 2004 album Kidz Bop Halloween.
